| We at Signature Landscape Services place a high level of importance on training and certification and we attract the best, qualified professionals in the industry. The "Certified Landscape Professional" (CLP) program covers a wide spectrum of business knowledge. We are pleased to hold the most CLP certifications of any company in the state of Washington. Numerous employees have earned the "Certified Landscape Technician" (CLT) designation, covering the technical and safety issues of the industry. These rigorous tests are given by the national landscape association, PLANET, of which Signature Landscape Services is proud to be a member.
Customer satisfaction and referrals have led to steady growth over the years since Henning Landscape and Lake East Grounds Maintenance merged in 2001 to form Signature Landscape Services.
A brief history of Signature Landscape Services
Doug Hart and Linda Fox purchased Lake East Grounds Maintenance Company on September 1, 1994. They had six employees and worked out of a trailer in Redmond. In 1997 they moved into their current facility in Redmond. Mark Henning started Henning Landscape Services, Inc. in the summer of 1977 at the age of 27, as a way to augment his teaching salary. He started with one full-time employee, but was soon able to grow his lawn maintenance business by installing commercial landscapes.
On March 5, 2001 Lake East Grounds Maintenance Company and Henning Landscape Services, Inc. merged their two companies to become Signature Landscape Services, Inc. This gave them two operating facilities and 29 employees. This new company now had four owners: Mark Henning, Doug Hart, Susan Hanley and Linda Fox. In September, 2001 Greg McDonald was hired as General Manager of Signature Landscape Services and became a 5th owner. In August, 2002 Signature Landscape Services purchased Northwest Grounds Maintenance, Inc. At the time of purchase, Northwest employed 13 people. By the summer of 2006 Signature Landscape proudly employed over 95 people and was looking to add a third branch office in the Kent area.
